So to begin the new year, I will take some time to detail some projects that I have completed in the last few months.
First - and my FAVORITE by far, is my window headboard. I had been searching for some sort of window or door to use as a headboard for some time and came across the PERFECT piece at The Blackberry House in Murfreesboro, TN. This is a darling shop, and if you've never checked it out...you TOTALLY should!

You should know that this was my first upholstery project of any sort and it was FULL of challenges! Let me recommend that you have a good, sharp tool to cut the foam. I did not and it was a disaster! My livingroom looked like it had exploded foam. I ended up using a really sharp kitchen knife and it cut the foam like butter.
To make the foam piece fit perfectly into each hole of the window, I went to Lowe's and had some super thin pieces of plywood cut about 1/4 bigger all the way around than the hole. I then placed my foam on the board (which I had dry fitted to make sure it fit) and then covered with my fabric and stapled on the back.
Then I screwed all the pieces of wood to the window. It sounds so simple when I write it out, but it was definitely FAR from simple. Once I got the hang of it, it wasn't so bad though.
